Happy 2018!

Hello 2018 you beauty!

Dear Friends of Hanworth House,

We wish you all a very Happy 2018! As we start this year with renewed zest and love for the Green Lady (she turns a young 154 years old in July) we can’t help but reflect on the year that has passed and all that we have accomplished. Of course none of this is ever possible without the generosity of our treasured friends, family, community members, donors, sponsors, partners and sometimes anonymous strangers – we LOVE you so much – THANK YOU!

Our mission at Hanworth House is to raise over 0,000 a year for charity and boy, did we hit that goal in 2017! In May 2017 our beloved Chatelaine, Marisa Vecchio poured her heart, soul and philanthropic prowess into Dancing CEO’s of which she was one of 12 brave contestants who took to the stage, performing in front of 900 people at the iconic Brisbane City Hall. Not only did she wow the crowd with her tango moves but her enthusiastic entourage stormed the dancefloor with a surprise flash mob, raising the energy levels through the roof. Marisa took home the trophy for Top Fundraiser – she raised over $70,000 which helped to raise a record total  of $260,000 on the night.

The rest of the year was a flurry of action and more fundraising – the inaugural Garden Party on the front lawn of Hanworth to benefit Queensland Ballet with Artistic Director Li Cunxin and his wife Mary and the dancers was such a hit, we are thrilled to bring you the second annual garden party so stay tuned for your invitation.  Speaking of invitations, we have a jam-packed calendar for 2018 so if you aren’t already subscribed to our email database, feel free to drop us a line at info@hanworthhouse.com.au or (07) 3391 7311 to be in the know of all happenings at Hanworth. That’s all for now, more highlights of 2017 to come.

Signing off, Michelle x

How dare HH decide to go overseas without me!  I have become the resident celebrity on this blog and in the daily life of Hanworth House – so when I discovered she was going to the USA without even the decency to ask if I wanted to accompany her, I took matters into my own hands… and took over this holiday blog too!
